eHealth Saskatchewan is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, results-oriented individual who will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technology issues for applications that have the potential to impact patient care. This is an integral role in our chain of care, and we are looking for a troubleshooter who takes pride in strong customer service.

Reporting to the Manager, Acute Care - You will be part of a team that provides application support to multi-user, mission critical, and technology applications. You will research and analyze issues with existing applications and/or transactions, impact of upgrades, new releases, patches etc. on individual and integrated applications. In addition, this role may monitor production technology systems to ensure optimal performance and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness.

You will possess a technical knowledge base and background; ideally a demonstrated working knowledge of Citrix/XenApp application delivery, OS Windows/UNIX, real-time interfaces, and relational databases. Proven experience and skills in effective communication, problem solving, documentation standards and a rigor for change management protocols and quality control are also required.

What we are looking for:
The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a Degree Computer Science or related area of study. In addition, you will have 1 years of experience working within an integrated IT/Health support environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Troubleshooting mission critical applications
  • Applying configuration changes
  • Application account creations


You will have demonstrated working knowledge of:

  • Experience with design and code reviews; understanding of revision control and experience with unit testing;
  • Database concepts, theories and principles;
  • Requirements analysis and solution design techniques;
  • Service-level protocols, change management protocols, and quality control procedures;
  • Experience providing technical support, desktop support or system administration is preferred;
  • Knowledge of: SQL/CCL; Relational databases
