Description:
General Accounting, including but not limited to:
- Processing and posting ACH, wires and bill payments in the bank and NetSuite
- Processing and printing cheque payments
- Reconciling vendor accounts and resolving discrepancies with vendors. This includes matching prepayments to invoices and managing outstanding balances
- Maintaining AP aging schedule and providing weekly updates to assist with the cash flow projections
- Entering credit card transactions, posting payments and performing credit card statement reconciliations
- Being the point person for any Accounts Payable related inquiries, as well as liaising with staff on all purchases to ensure timely payment of invoices and expenses
- Maintaining accounting controls by following policies and procedures pertaining to Accounts Payable
- Reconciling all bank accounts on a weekly basis, prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile GL accounts
- Reconciling weekly sales and cash deposits for all merchant terminals for retail locations and periodic sales audits as needed
- Reconciling weekly eCommerce deposits, communication with the payment processor regarding any discrepancies
- Ensuring the integrity and completeness of accounting data from sub-ledgers to general ledger
- Create and maintain month-end working paper files and assist in the preparation of financial statements as assigned
- Complete special projects and duties as assigned

Competencies:
- Post-secondary education with a concentration in Accounting
- Some experience in Accounts Payable, bookkeeping and/or general accounting preferred
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to efficiently engage with multiple stakeholders across the organization
- Proven ability to work within a cross-functional team and independently
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage own workflow in order to meet competing deadlines
- Results-oriented and focused on continuous process improvement
- Naturally inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions, or challenge the status quo
