Description:
The successful candidate will join our central office campaign team full-time in Vancouver starting ASAP in August.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and updating the campaign’s website and content management systems, including the central campaign website and 93 individual candidate website subdomains.
- Ensure website functionality, performance, and responsiveness across various devices and browsers.
- Collaborate with the creative and digital teams to integrate and format text, images, videos, and other media into the website.
- Implement web forms, donation pages, and other interactive elements as needed for campaign engagement.
- Provide technical support for website issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular website maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and security checks.
- Optimize website content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and organic traffic.
- Monitoring web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track website performance and user behavior.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss web strategies, updates, and improvements.
- Ensure the website complies with web accessibility standards and best practices, making it inclusive for all users.
- Maintain awareness of political campaign regulations and ensure the website adheres to legal requirements.
Requirements & Skills
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of front-end web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of web design principles and experience with responsive and accessible design.
- Familiarity with developing for content management systems (CMS) — Drupal and/or ActionKit experience a plus
- Ability to work with design tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma) to implement design mockups.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve website issues.
- Experience with back-end technologies such as Databases, and languages such as PHP, Python, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience in digital marketing or working on political campaigns.
