Description:
Working under the Director, IT PMO, the Portfolio Manager will oversee a team of Program Managers, Lead Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers ensuring alignment with corporate and business strategy, process consistency across initiatives, and customer satisfaction. In this capacity, they will also provide mentoring, coaching, training, and development of team members.
You Are Great At:
- Prioritizing demand and planning projects across a portfolio as defined within a governance model
- Assessing portfolio activities and comparing them to available resources and constraints
- Working closely with aligned business partners in the development and execution of defined strategies and project development, facilitating the smooth adoption of new technology-based solutions
- Organizing quarterly business reviews and managing project intake and roadmaps
- Establishing strong relationships with senior management rooted in trusted delivery and high-quality results
- Facilitating the solution of key business critical / priority issues and aligning the project budget accordingly (making most of the dollar being spent)
- Providing effective project communication and governance plans to business partners
- Working closely with IT financial analysts to provide oversight and detailed reporting on overall portfolio financials regularly
- Control, monitor, and report on a consolidated set of projects, programs, and associated changes for delivery across the portfolio
- Flagging and monitoring emerging issues recommends necessary actions and working with Project Managers to course-correct
- Making trade-off decisions in terms of budget and resources where required for projects under their management, setting priorities, and managing interdependencies across a portfolio
- Inspire and motivate direct and indirect Project Managers
- Attending industry conferences staying apprised of changing technology trends and potential future solutions to be considered within the various IT teams
- Work closely with other members of the PMO to create, revise, and maintain PMO governance and structure by pro-actively aligning with best practices and trends
- Act as an ambassador for the IT PMO
