Description:
As our new Canadian IT Manager/Business Partner, you will be responsible for strategic advice to the Canadian leadership team while working closely with your regional counter-parts to ensure alignment with global standards and assist with improving quality, consistency and efficiency across the company.
Success in this role will require exceptional communications skills, an understanding of the art of the possible and an enthusiasm to help identify and solve business problems using appropriate technology.
Key Responsibilities
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Strategy, Leadership and Communication
- Becoming an integral part of the extended Global IT Leadership Team, responsible for implementing strategy and service delivery across the SLR network
- Working closely with global counterparts across IT disciplines of Service Delivery, End User Technology, Information Security, Digital Service, Network Infrastructure and Business Systems
- Defining and communicating a strategy that is in line with the local and global direction
- Managing resource allocation and utilization to deliver projects and BAU support activities
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders across the region
Technology and Service Delivery
- Leading the regional IT team, ensuring team members are well informed and equipped to deliver and innovate
- Ensuring the IT Service delivery function in the Canada operates in alignment with the other regions and technical services
- Monitoring and managing Service Delivery, driving continual improvement to achieve and exceed KPIs and goals
Commercial and Vendor Management
- Proactively managing vendors, working closely with the Group IT Director,
- Participating in vendor and product evaluation and selection for new technologies
- Negotiating global contracts as well as managing 3rd parties and external resources
IT Business Partnership
- Becoming a strategic partner for the business leaders, understanding their needs, and working with IT to proactively translate those needs into requirements for technical delivery
- Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency through process improvement and enhanced use of IT
Projects and Change
- Leading and managing IT projects
- Ensuring that appropriate reporting and control measures are in place to ensure that projects remain on target for time, cost, and quality
- Providing regular project reporting to stakeholders and IT management
Acquisitions and IT Integration
- As a growing organization, the role will involve integration and standardization of service for newly acquired businesses
