Description:
The IT Manager will be responsible for providing support and overseeing the technology infrastructure and application services at the Hinton, Alberta site in addition to cross-border teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the local demand and supply in cooperation with the regional and global team.
- Project management and coordination for local and regional projects.
- Coordination of internal and external Organizations / service providers / suppliers within the defined projects.
- Establish and enhance strong working relationships with various internal teams, global resources/counterparts, and external suppliers.
- Planning and procurement of hardware and software, external IT services in close coordination with a regional or the global IT Team.
- Manages the local IT team - sets goals and targets for all direct reports in line with business requirements.
- Develop an IT organization supporting local business needs in line with Mondi’s group IT standards.
- Manage the local IT budget (CAPEX/OPEX).
- Be an active member of the regional Americas IT team.
- Manage and administer IT infrastructure and application environment.
- Build, maintain, patch, monitor and repair the datacenter infrastructure which includes VMware platform that serves manufacturing, graphics and office facilities.
- Ensuring that network infrastructure is operational and assist with provisioning, configuring and administering network infrastructure and appliances, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoots and resolves infrastructure issues.
- Manage and respond to daily alerts from monitoring systems.

- Experience in technical project management.
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing operations, production, and computer data collection systems.
- Working knowledge of enterprise networks, vLANs, cabling, connectivity, and Cloud Computing.
- Experience with storage arrays, SANs, cloud, Netapp and cloud storage.
- Experience with VMWare, ESX Server with Virtual Center required. Working knowledge of vSphere.
- Working knowledge of network administration, including routing protocols, security protocols, and VPN technologies, DNS architecture, design, and administration experience.
- 5+ years of relevant, hands-on experience supporting Windows Server 2016 and later versions, in an enterprise environment.
- Interested in learning the latest technology.
- Ability to work independently and without the need for supervision, as well as collaboratively within the team and across various IT groups and business units.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a scientific approach to problem investigation and resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make good decisions under pressure. Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to supervise work provided by third party contractors/temporary or project resources.
