Intern Architect

 

Description:

As an Intern Architect, you will gain hands-on experience working closely with Partners, associates, and architects in a collaborative studio environment. You will contribute to the development of technical solutions, assist in project documentation, and refine your architectural skills through active participation in various project phases. This role provides an opportunity to deepen your knowledge of design, detailing, and construction processes while learning from experienced professionals.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a larger team, taking direction from Project Architects and Partners;
  • Prepare construction documents for building permits and tender submissions;
  • Develop technical solutions in response to design challenges, including building envelope detailing;
  • Conduct research, develop project details, and manage BIM models;
  • Contribute to the successful development of the projects’ BIM model to ensure quality in design and technical resolution;
  • Assist in construction administration activities, including site visits and coordination with consultants and contractors.

  • You have a strong understanding of building technology, building envelope detailing, and construction techniques;
  • You are proficient in BIM Revit modeling and detailing, with knowledge of AutoCAD considered an asset;
  • You have knowledge of the Ontario Building Code;
  • You have excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
  • You have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects;
  • You are able to meet deadlines effectively.

You have the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Architecture with a professional architecture degree;
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience;
  • Strong knowledge of common Canadian construction techniques;
  • Experience in developing and coordinating contract documents;
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD;
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and SketchUp;
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
