Our client is a large and high-profile not-for-profit community health care services organization. They are looking for an experienced CEO to help them through a transition period. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CEO will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and operational excellence. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity to operate in an environment with a portfolio of program/service delivery offerings driven by the optimization of seniors’ care delivery through efficiency, research, and system solutions. The chosen candidate will be a visionary healthcare and business leader with strong financial, operational, human resources and governance experience.
Key Accountabilities:
- Coach and support the organization through a critical period of transition as the long-standing CEO exits, focusing on engagement and retention.
- Inspires a high performing management team to innovate and advance the operational effectiveness of the client through a rigorous review of the current operations and organizational structure to achieve service expansion and efficiency improvement.
- Steer the critical capital development project to build a new home during the engagement.
- Support the VP HR and CIO to ensure the HR system implementation project has the right value and impact across the organization.
- Prepare for the Board meeting on the 29th of October.
- Assesses the organizational structure and skillsets to platform the functions for success.
- Communicates and leads the implementation of client’s strategic goals and directions as specified in the strategic and annual operating plan.
- Keeps up to date with external developments, key market trends and opportunities and leading practices in the senior’s care sector and broader environment and brings forward appropriate leading innovations and go-to-market strategies and thinking to client.
- Ensures that the division complies with client policies, regulation, legislation, and Accreditation standards.
- Seeks and maximizes government (including Ontario Health Teams), non-government, and private revenue resources to deliver programs, fill service gaps, and support the expansion of community-based program.
- Ensures accountability processes are in place such as weekly huddles, monthly management team meetings and quarterly business review meetings to review, improve and innovate performance for quality, effectiveness, efficiency, value for money and resident/client experience.
- Leverage data-driven insights and fact-based stories to develop new programs, influence policy development.
- Leverage knowledge in expertise in corporate and community partnership development, fundraising, including effective government funding, communications, and relations.
- Enhances the client’s financial and operational sustainability to expand services through innovative technology, best industry practices, programs and services, delivery models, strategic partnerships and/or integrations to better serve its communities.
- Develops collaborative relationships and contributes to the wellbeing of communities by driving seamless integration across the organization and ensuring impactful changes in support of person-centred care.
Competencies and Requirements:
- 10-15+ years of progressive business and operational leadership experience in healthcare, social and community services and/or senior or long-term care.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of health care in Ontario, more specifically the ministry of long-term care.
- Demonstrated history of transformative leadership with a keen sensitivity to diverse cultures.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and practices.
- Proven ability to provide effective leadership in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Track record of leading similar organizations in the innovation, quality improvement, and delivery of excellent services and care within a safe healthy work environment and in an efficient and financially sound manner.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to impact and influence diverse audiences.
- Flexible and adaptable to change; leads quality improvement, complex change, and innovation within the home and across organizations to achieve common aims guided by a shared purpose.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and be agile in addressing multiple competing demands environment and make sound decisions with strong business acumen.
- Expertise in planning, evaluation, and quality monitoring systems.
- Effective relationship-building skills with funders, staff, and stakeholders.
