Instrumentation Engineer

 

Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

· Liaise with Winters sales management, engineers, customers, and factories on all technical/engineering issues

· Review and report on Winters RMA (return material authorization) and CAR (corrective action reports) system

· Issuing and subsequently evaluating customer requested RMAs & CARs forms

· Review and liaise with Winters China manufacturing facilities concerning product specifications and technical drawings.

· Review Winters marketing materials for technical accuracy

· Prepare, maintain, and approve all product engineering drawings and specifications in conjunction with the Corporate Engineering Manager

· Revise product specifications as required

· Overall responsibility for management & execution of projects

· Ensure quality and accuracy of finished project orders

· Track and resolve any Corrective Action Requests related to project orders in conjunction with Winters Engineering/Manufacturing & Sales teams

· Analyse customer submitted formal specification packages and subsequent preparation of written quotations within required bid deadlines.

· Quotation follow-up, possible revision, and support to secure customer purchase orders.

· Offer technical information concerning suitability of Winters products relative to application and certification (eg CSA, UL, FM, NACE.) requirements for all approvals

· Test certification preparation.

· Experienced in electrical engineering, trouble shooting, design and application of communication protocols, eg. HART or MODBUS

 

Qualifications:

  • Canadian Professional Engineering degree or P. Eng Designation required.
  • 5 or more years of work-related experience in the instrumentation industry
  • 5 or more years of work-related electrical engineering experience in the instrumentation industry
  • Technical writing abilities, applications, and specification development experience
  • Experience preparing engineering drawings and specification approvals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Independent and can work well in team environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Previous calibration experience is preferable
