Description:
In this role, the Institutional Security Guard Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Institutional Security Guards while providing safety and protection of all employees, visitors, and company assets. The Supervisor will also assist Security Guards in the execution of their roles when required.
As an Institutional Security Guard Supervisor, your key duties and responsibilities include:
- Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Maintaining effective communications skills when earning the confidence and trust of clients, staff and visitors
- Intervening in the event of escalating behavior using Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Crisis & Restraint Management principles
- Escorting/removing individuals from site and/or property at the request of clinical staff or upon assessment when behaviour becomes illegal, intrusive, disruptive, violent, or impedes the capability to provide care
- Immediately responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance
- Patrolling all areas and being prepared to be dispatched as required
- Assessing Security Guards’ performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
- Ensuring all training/orientations for staff are completed, up to date, and documented
- Writing and submitting security reports
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Security License (PSIS)
- Must have a Current First Aid CPR Level A with AED Certificate
- Certified Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or willing to obtain
- Certified Resistance Management and Effective Communications or will to obtain
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position
- Valid Driver’s License, Clear Drivers Abstract and CPIC
- Ability to respond and deal with urgent/critical issues
