Description:
Provides architectural and engineering leadership in infrastructure security, including but not limited to cloud, physical and logical data centre infrastructure, local and wide area networking, remote networking, wireless and mobile networking, perimeter security, authentication, Internet-of-Things, Software Defined Infrastructure, Middleware and databases by envisioning capabilities, developing architectural roadmaps, detailed designs, and supporting business case development aligned with TransLink’s technology strategy and architecture in collaboration with Enterprise architecture, IT Security, IT Operations, and other stakeholders. Provides strategic guidance and technology expertise to support business and technology leaders across the enterprise to plan, enable and achieve targeted business outcomes through effective and sustainable technology choices and operating models.
Key Accountabilities
Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture, Product Managers, Information Security, Solutions Architects, and other stakeholders to conduct needs assessments, identify future capabilities, and develop future state Infrastructure Security architecture with roadmaps. Supports development of business cases for identified needs, budgeting, proposed roadmaps, and future state infrastructure security.
Establishes a solid understanding of technology strategies and requirements in order to translate BTS needs and security capabilities into technology services. Works with technology leaders and business customers to understand requirements, financial considerations, and technology opportunities.
Provides an advanced level of expertise on Infrastructure Security direction to business and technology leaders to address emerging business requirements, support projects and ensure secure service delivery. Supports and guides the decision making of the technology leaders in the definition of technology strategy and selection of appropriate technologies products, vendors, resources, internal and external processes to fulfill secure service requirements.
Collaborates with technical subject matter experts and other stakeholders to create and maintain secure infrastructure architecture and detailed designs (conceptual, logical, integration and physical).
Audits and validates infrastructure design and configuration prior to and during implementation to ensure compliance with TransLink policies and industry security best practices.
Identifies, quantifies, and qualifies risks in technology infrastructure and develops strategies to address the risks and implement/improve controls. Ensures security is designed and integrated into Infrastructure solutions.
Creates detailed security integration architectures for integrating new systems architecture into existing Infrastructure environments.
Collaborates with IT teams from networking, computing, storage, and development to develop high value- engineered Infrastructure security solutions.
Builds strong working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. Acts as technical lead and participates in committees and working groups across areas and departments to address specific projects and issues.
Keeps current on emerging technologies and trends within Enterprise cybersecurity and related technology domains. Seeks opportunities and makes recommendations to leverage technology to provide enhanced value to BTS customers. Leads the implementation of infrastructure and cloud security prototypes to assess for suitability and potential benefits.
Assists stakeholders such as Solution Architects and Technical Engineers in designing solutions incorporating optimal security integration.
Provides hands-on troubleshooting to support Operations and Maintenance teams through escalation processes when specific subject matter expertise is required, operational support capabilities have been exceeded, and SLA compliance is at risk.
Provides hands-on implementation to validate designs and to assist with security integration into infrastructure builds.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
The requirements of this job are acquired through completion of a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus eight (8) years’ related information security experience contributing to the success of midsize-to-large initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, TOGAF, SABSA, ITIL, ISO27001/2 or equivalent designation(s) are considered an asset.
Public Cloud Certifications (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) are an asset.
TOGAF Certification is an asset.
