Indigenous Student Success Coordinator

Description:

The incumbent is responsible for fostering a welcoming community for Indigenous learners at Humber by developing, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating student support programs and services both independently, and in conjunction with other colleagues and departments. Under the general direction of the Manger of Indigenous Education & Engagement, the Indigenous Student Success Coordinator is responsible for the time delivery of strategic retention and academic support services as identified by the Humber Indigenous community while meeting the requirements from the MTCU PSET consolidated multi-year plan. .

The Indigenous Student Success Coordinator facilitates the successful transition of Indigenous learners from pre-application to graduation using a holistic, Indigenous student-centered lens. Planning of programs and services for Indigenous learners will focus on the development of skills and building capacity for Indigenous learners in transition at College through culturally supportive and inclusive methods of delivery and content.

The incumbent is responsible assisting and directing Humber students to help them access on campus supports such as peer tutoring, counselling and financial aid assistance including band funding, bursary applications. The position acts as primary resource for prospective and current Indigenous students and performs other related duties as required.
