Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion across Canada, the US and into the global market. As a result of this growth, we are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Human Resource Business Partner to support the Store Operations. A successful applicant will be engaging and dynamic, carrying key focus in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, policy development as well as special training projects as required. This is a full-time, in office, permanent position.
Core Functions
Performance and Employee Development
- Providing advice and guidance to Leaders for all areas of HR, including employee relations, compensation, employee development, policy compliance, recruitment, and training
- Act as a cultural champion to promote an agile performance driven environment where all team members are encouraged to pursue and realize their full potential
- Work closely with employees and management to coordinate and facilitate early and safe return to work opportunities, leveraging the return-to-work accommodation program
- Support Health & Safety initiatives, recommend and implement disability management practices, accessibility and the accommodation processes
Policy Administration
- Understand current employment legislation and HR best practices to ensure policies and procedures achieve organizational goals and remain in compliance
- Assist in development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives
- Aid in implementing a long-term Human Resource vision, strategy, and tactics in alignment with organizational objectives
- Utilize data to identify trends and diagnose organizational effectiveness issues
Talent Acquisition
- Responsible for talent sourcing and acquisition including creating job descriptions, posting available positions, interviewing, selection, and onboarding
- Collaborate with leaders and lead the hiring process for various departments
- Track efficiencies of the hiring process; measure success of candidate hiring process
- Use HRIS system to effectively manage the hiring process and candidate pool
The Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field
- 3-5 years related experience
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing relationships
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Quick learner, creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Strong ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities
- Experience with HRIS software would be considered an asset
