Description:
Kleysen is seeking to add a Health & Safety Coordinator to our existing Safety team to support our Yard, Trucking & Rail safety programs in Edmonton, Alberta. The position reports to the Manager, Safety and Health and will work closely with the safety and operations teams.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of rail, liquid handling & transloading with a solution orientated and hands on approach in working alongside the Operations team to:
- Collaborate with the Safety teams in Calgary and Winnipeg to identify, develop and recommend effective safe workplace procedures & best practices.
- Research and support the development of job hazard analysis, standard operating procedures, safety policies, training programs and the delivery of training.
- Conduct & oversee safety inspections, audits, competency assessments, etc.
- Lead and respond to incidents and conduct investigations to determine root cause.
- Support disability & return to work programs.
- Identify opportunities to support & enhance a Safety 1st culture.
- Support and facilitate HR initiatives such as recruitment, onboarding, etc… for yard, drivers, and other staff.

Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of health and safety experience.
- Experience within the liquid handling & product transloading and/or transportation industry is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in health, safety, and environmental management.
- Proven experience developing health and safety programs, procedures, training programs, internal audits, and inspections.
- Working knowledge of Federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Confident communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within Alberta periodically.
