Description:
As a Hardware Lifecycle Mechanical Engineer, responsibilities include:
- Technical coordination of product lifecycle issues and resolution
- Development of mechanical solutions adhering to IATF 16949 processes
- Hands-on solution development, including hardware design, test plan, test execution, test reports, documentation updates, and final implementation
- Creation or modification of data sets, such as BOM and assembly drawings
- Creation of Engineering Change Orders and conducting Root Cause Analysis when required
- Involvement of subject matter experts as needed, and support for Project Managers
- Provide lessons learned to the development team and working with the repair team to understand customer returns
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Expertise in injection molded plastics, machined components, sheet metal, and sealing strategies
- Foundational understanding and experience in cable harnesses and interconnect solutions for electronic assemblies
- Strong skills in 3D modeling, preferably with Creo
- Experience with DFMA and GD&T, and familiarity with various standards such as MIL-SPEC, IEC, ISO
- Foundational understanding and experience with Root Cause Analysis
- Able to work with hand tools and proficiency in PCs, operating systems, and software packages
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
