Description:
Sun Life is seeking a Group Benefits Implementation Project Manager to join its GB Implementation Team. This role is responsible for onboarding new Group Benefits Clients and managing major plan changes for existing Clients. As a key liaison between Clients, Advisors, and internal teams, the Implementation Project Manager (IPM) ensures smooth execution of benefit plan implementations using strong project management methodologies and stakeholder engagement.
✅ Define and optimize project scope while managing scope-creep effectively.
✅ Develop and maintain detailed project timelines with clear ownership and deliverables.
✅ Apply project management best practices in planning, scheduling, and risk management.
✅ Gather and analyze Client requirements, collaborating with subject matter experts.
✅ Manage relationships with Clients and Advisors, ensuring expectations are met.
✅ Proactively manage project risks, issues, and action plans to prevent delays.
✅ Lead multi-site project teams using strong leadership, influencing, and facilitation skills.
✅ Communicate project updates clearly and regularly to all stakeholders.
✅ Represent Sun Life in Client-facing meetings and finalist presentations.
✔️ Bilingual (French & English) required for collaboration across Canada.
✔️ Minimum 2 years of experience managing client-facing projects in Group Benefits, Insurance, or Business Development.
✔️ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
✔️ Solid understanding of project management techniques, tools, and methodologies.
✔️ Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills for overcoming challenges.
✔️ Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
✔️ Client-centric mindset with a strategic approach to long-term outcomes.
✔️ Positive, energetic, and adaptable attitude in a dynamic environment.
✔️ Proficiency in delivering presentations to Clients and senior leadership.
🔹 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
🔹 PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
🔹 GBA (Group Benefits Associate) or CEBS designation (an asset).
🔹 Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred).
🔹 Willingness to travel to Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal, Vancouver & Calgary as required.
