Description:
The Housing Coordinator or designated backup will be available during regular business hours as well as outside of business hours.
Notices
Notices of Unit inspections, Eviction Notices and other Housing related notices will be drafted by the Housing Coordinator for signature by the Executive Director or designate.
Potential Place
The Housing Coordinator shall participate, as best as possible, in all Potential Place Society activities in the Clubhouse units when not directly working on Housing matters.
Member Support and Advocacy
Advocating on behalf of members living and not living in Potential Place Housing; this may include aiding in the drafting of defences (not as a professional advocate), supporting (only) while member is attending tribunal/court and so forth. The Housing coordinator will professionally navigate the dual role of landlord and tenant advocate at all times. This may necessitate calling the tenant`s family members, Alberta Health Services (AHS), The Mobile Response Team (MRT), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or other supports.
Member representatives from each building unit shall, on a volunteer basis, assist with document processing, rent collection and member advocacy. Volunteers will be expected to sign confidentiality statements with respect to information obtained on or about unit-dwelling members.
