Full Stack Developer

Description:

The Fort Vermilion School Division is seeking a Full Stack Developer specializing in JavaScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS. The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and APIs within the FVSD. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Information Technology team to create efficient and user-friendly solutions, including software development and system maintenance. This position is based out of the La Crete Office. The start date for this position is approximately September 1, 2024, or another mutually agreed upon date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a strong focus on JavaScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js).
• Experience with server-side languages such as Node.js and frameworks like Express.js.
• Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL databases)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience working in an educational or similar environment is a plus.
• Willing to work in collaboration with Division staff as necessary
• Able to recognize and respect the need for confidentiality.
• Evidence of successfully passing the required Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Evidence of successfully passing the Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check if you have/had children.
