French Content Editor

Description:

The role involves collaborating with members of the Experience Design team and peers across the business, including legal, brand, and intent and product owners, to help facilitate the delivery of quality, error-free experiences. This includes: Reviewing and revising customer communications to ensure consistency with brand standards, editorial guidelines and guidance from legal and compliance. Advocating for the customer and ensuring that communications are delivered in plain language. Providing high-quality French translations of English content and collaborating with the Process Management team and translation vendor when required. Maintaining a fundamental understanding of all products, including marketing language and the accompanying legal disclosures. Reviewing French experiences to ensure alignment with the English intent. Collaborating with various business partners to collect and incorporate feedback from the required parties at all stages of development. Reconciling feedback, resolving conflicts/inconsistencies and addressing concerns from stakeholders, including looping back with them. Being accountable for final approval of their team’s deliverables, based on compiled feedback and a last review of the finished product. Success Criteria The French Content Editor is measured on the consistent delivery of quality, error-free work, in every channel, for both prospective and current customers. This includes: 100% error-free work that adheres to and aligns with the brand vision and pillars. Ensuring the appropriate approvals are requested and documented, as outlined in the Create Marketing & Collateral process. Education and Experience Basic Requirements: A degree/diploma in French translation, journalism, communications, French language or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in editing/translation. Excellent knowledge of Canadian French. Successful completion of Capital One’s editing assessment (conducted at time of interview). Preferred Requirements (ideal, but not necessary): Previous experience in the financial services industry. Some experience working with legal and compliance teams. Familiarity with the Canadian Press style.
