The Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) is responsible for the overall quality and integrity of the government's financial management and control systems. Forensic Accounting Services mandate is to strengthen financial management across government with an effective response to internal fraud incidents resulting in a financial loss to BC Government and to build an ‘anti-fraud’ culture.

The manager of Forensic Accounting Services is responsible for effecting the Comptroller General’s is responsible for effecting the Comptroller General’s response to reported allegations of fraud or financial improprieties under the Financial Administration Act. The manager works collaboratively with other internal investigation units within the Public Service Agency, Corporate Information and Records Management Office and the Office of the Chief Information Officer as well as service providers to deliver appropriate investigative outcomes and fraud risk management strategies. The manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining fraud risk management and awareness programs for the purpose of strengthening financial management across government.
