Financial Controller

Description:

Blu Dot is seeking a Financial Controller to join their senior team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Financial Controller will be accountable for overseeing all financial and operational accounting processes, systems, controls, policies, and reporting and analysis. This role will partner closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to ensure the financial integrity of the organization, safeguard assets, and support decision-making with strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets

• Oversee the development of core financial systems, processes, and reporting policies

• Manage all finance responsibilities, including accounting, project management, billing, and collections

• Manage cash flow and review spending with leadership to develop recommendations

• Work with the Executive Team and Board of Directors to prioritize and develop business cases for strategic initiatives

• Prepare regulatory reports and advise senior leadership on changes in sustainability and green finance regulations

• Develop price and costing models to support business growth operations

• Handle special projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification

• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, tax, SOX controls, and risk management practices

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present quantitative and qualitative information to all levels of management

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior management and effectively challenge decisions

• Strong business acumen and a solid work ethic

• Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity

• Ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines
