RECL is currently seeking a Controller.
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management and owners by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting financial performance of company and comparing to annual budgets and industry standards;
- Prepare annual financial statements and supporting working paper file;
- Prepare and file all relevant income tax and sales tax returns and filings and manage the required installments;
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows by maintaining internal safeguards for revenue receipts and processing of payments and comparing company and project budgets with actual revenues and expenditures;
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies;
- Establish (in coordination with President) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly and annual basis;
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation;
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity;
- Liaise with external financial statement and government auditors.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- 5 – 10 years’ of professional accounting experience;
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and construction accounting practices, banking processes and financial data analysis;
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate, sales and payroll tax regulations
- Exemplary history of financial project management;
- Experience leading a small accounting/finance team is an asset;
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) is an asset;
- Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes is an asset.
