Capital Projects Planning and Delivery (CPPD) is a division within the Department of Labour, Consumer Protection and Government Services. CPPD’s core business area responsibilities include:

  • capital planning, technical services support, and the delivery of capital projects for core government departments (excluding the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure, and the Department of Health);
  • central coordination, negotiation, and implementation of federal-provincial cost-shared capital infrastructure programs and projects;
  • facilitation of innovative alternative delivery models and solutions to make atypical, strategic and complex projects possible, such as P3 methodologies, for large infrastructure projects and coordinate strategic initiatives related to capital development.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Post-secondary education related to Business Administration with financial accounting, accounts payable and receivable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with team members as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive material.
  • Ability to be proactive to problem solve and take initiative to perform tasks independently while working under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience reviewing and formatting correspondence.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

Desired:

  • Experience working with SAP accounting and reporting modules.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

 

Duties:
Reporting to the Financial Officer, the Financial Clerk is responsible for processing the Division’s day-to-day financial transactions and comptrollership related functions working independently on a variety of complex tasks. This position provides financial, payroll related support and advice to program managers. This position acts as a liaison/resource to all program staff within the Divisions regarding financial transactions, policies, procedures, processes and guidelines as they relate to accounts payable, accounts receivable and recoveries.
