Description:
Our Liquidity Management team is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Treasury team whose mandate is to identify and manage TC Energy’s consolidated interest rate and foreign exchange risks with the goal of reducing foreign exchange volatility and financial charges to the income statement, preserve the value of foreign denominated assets on the balance sheet, and create economic value for TC Energy. The team utilizes financial instruments to manage these exposures with established risk tolerances and controls. This position will focus on the money market and stock and debt desk.
What you'll do
- Primarily responsible for investment and short-term liquidity management
- Regularly communicate and manage relationships with a Canadian and U.S. commercial paper dealer syndicate
- Manage the longer-term liquidity dashboard which pools information from corporate planning, SAP, and corporate finance; coordinate with system and analytics for Power BI version
- Compile, review, and disseminate a consolidated report reflecting all market risk exposures we manage
- Collaborate, communicate, and maintain strong ties with many different groups (accounting, corporate finance, legal, risk, tax, internal group finance, etc.)
- Administer various credit facilities and term loan portfolios
- Requires maintaining a summary of respective maturity, rollover, and drawdowns dates
- Ensure notices delivered void of errors and in a timely fashion
- Maintain strong relationships with banking administrative functions
- Responsible for delivering and ensuring preferred share and common share dividend payments proceed successfully
- Coordinate with accounting, corporate finance, and legal in the support and entry of new debt transactions into SAP
- Update economic assumptions for corporate planning during forecast and plan updates
- Actively involved in the delivery of accounting and quarter end deliverables which include:
- Preparing liquidity, interest rate, foreign exchange, and trading room presentation materials for Audit Committee meetings
- Updating various reports and models to reflect quarter-end snapshot financial exposure and summary information using in the filing of financial statements and MD&A materials
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in business, finance or a quantitative field of study
- Working towards a professional designation, preferably CFA or equivalent is considered an asset
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive work experience, preferably with experience in a financial services environment
- Strong technical background and proficiency with systems and spreadsheet skills including various Microsoft products like Word, Excel, Access, Power BI, SAP, etc.
- Strong analytic, financial analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skills
- Proven ability to work independently and to identify and resolve issues by exercising professional judgement
