RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with CHEO’s Capital Leaders to monitor projects and update capital report for monthly capital meetings.
  • Work closely with Facilities Management to deliver the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) program;
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations for various capital and contributed capital accounts;
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations for Foundation/MCCSS/HIRF funded projects;
  • Preparation of monthly calls for the above funded projects ;
  • Review and code holdbacks for milestone invoices for construction projects;
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliation of holdback account;
  • Review capital transactions to ensure proper coding;
  • Set-Up/Close-Out projects in the financial system;
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of reporting on CHEO Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO);
  • Support testing and qualification of new ERP system implementation (Workday);
  • Maintains a detailed capital asset subledger for the hospital;
  • Supports the submission of major capital projects to various funding agencies;
  • Collects supporting documentation for samples requested by external auditors;
  • Prepares Statistics Canada surveys for capital;
  • Identifies opportunities for capital workflow improvements;
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Police Record Check (PRC). (Essential)
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA,CMA,CGA or working towards). (Essential)
  • University Degree/College Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field. (Essential)
  • A minimum of 3 years of Accounting/Finance work experience. (Essential)
  • Demonstrated expertise in Excel. (Essential)
  • Ability to maintain a highly organized electronic filing system. (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer focused approach. (Essential)
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines with competing priorities. (Essential)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. (Essential)
  • High energy and enthusiastic; ready to embrace and promote positive change. (Essential)
  • English Essential. (Essential)
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Health (MOH) on major capital projects. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge/Experience using Workday is an asset. (Preferred)
