Financial Analyst

What will you do?

• Support the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process leading to quarterly AVP and VP sign offs

• Support the monthly forecast, multi-year planning and annual budgeting process for GRS. Create templates, input data, resolve issues and interact with staff and leaders across the company

• Assist with timely and accurate monthly and quarterly report production, providing key input and analysis. May own the creation of several key outputs looked upon by management and leaders to help gauge expense or broader financial performance

• Investigate and effectively communicate issues with the creation and distribution of reports. Assist in the resolution of these issues.

• Develop KPI reporting tools that will assist in resource management, capacity planning, helping understand operational gaps and highlight potential process efficiencies

• Liaise with key partners such as Canadian Finance, Expense Management, Savings Accounting, Pricing and others

What do you need to succeed?

• University degree with a major in Accounting or Finance

• CPA is an asset

• Experience in the finance field, with budgeting, forecasting and planning preferred

• Advanced MS Excel skills

• Ability to summarize large amounts of data to isolate business drivers and articulate findings

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to accurately communicate financial results

• Prior insurance industry experience is preferred

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
