Description:
Role Overview: You will play an important role at Maxx by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You will also be responsible for HR duties such as payment and tracking of statutory requirements and filing of employee documents. Additionally, you will help to coordinate and oversee the transportation for inbound and outbound product shipments.
Job Responsibilities:
· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Post transactions using Maxx’s accounting software.
· Review and process the employee payroll via ADP application.
· Process consignment payments to sources and suppliers.
· Process credit card payments and wire transfers to sources and suppliers.
· Process statutory requirements, e.g., HST, WSIB and EHT payments.
· Book trucking for inbound and outbound shipments.
· Prepare customs documentation for cross-border transportation.
· Maintain historical records by filing documents as needed.
· Provide input and recommendations to improve processes and systems within the Finance and Accounting function.
· As required, prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information and trends.
· Also, additional finance and administration duties may be periodically assigned.
Financial Specialist Qualifications / Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in accounting, finance, or related field.
· At least 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
· Strong time management skills; must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
· Professional and discrete demeanor.
· Self-starter, self-directed, performance and results-driven.
· Ability to analyze, evaluate and improve the way that things are done.
· Accepts ownership and accountability and possesses a high level of integrity.
· Team player with a positive 'can do' attitude.
· Must be reliable, trustworthy and detail-oriented.
