Description:
The Finance controller will be a key leader within the Finance Department responsible for:
- Assisting the Finance Manager with credit management, inventories, internal audits, year-end file creation, and other special projects as required.
- Maintaining awareness of financial trends, best practices and impacts to the Co-op and its respective commodities.
- Collaborating as needed with FCL and other Local Co-ops to build upon programs and strategies across the CRS.
- Overseeing period end financial statements, communicate with File Maintenance staff on proper period-end procedures, and providing insightful analytical assessment of period-end results to commodity managers.
- Overseeing the maintenance of vendor payable files, AR payment files, and payments.
- Overseeing and maintaining the GL code structure (adding / deleting as required).
- Maintaining a deep understanding of current accounting principles and recordkeeping requirements.
- Ensuring claims, invoices, tax filings and other regulatory filings, and all other paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
