Join Our Team as a Field Mechanic Specializing in Crawler Cranes & Deep Foundation Equipment!
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in the field, diagnosing electro-mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work meets high-quality standards. You will work closely with customers, providing technical support to keep equipment performing at its best. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in various climates and environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components, with a focus on crawler cranes and deep foundation drilling rigs. This includes electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, and transmission systems, handling moderately to highly complex issues.
- Perform pre-delivery preparations, scheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls, often requiring component replacements, commissioning, and adjustments to mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems, including warranty-related updates.
- Recondition and repair assigned equipment components and systems.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and prepare new and used equipment.
- Occasionally perform general Liebherr equipment maintenance, including fluid checks, sampling, oil and filter changes, lubrication, and greasing.
- Inspect components, materials, and equipment for compliance with specifications and ensure timely delivery.
- Complete final inspections according to work instructions, technical documentation, and verbal or written specifications.
- Accurately and promptly submit service reports and technical documents.
- Use and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance; experience with crane repair is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for moderate to complex issues.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Clear and concise communication, including detailed technical explanations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with service reporting software, time tracking systems, and parts ordering platforms.
