Faculty, Digital Design And Development

 

Description:

BCIT’s Digital Arts, Media and Design department within the School of Business + Media offers a range of programs in the areas of Web and Mobile, Animation and Gaming, and Communication and Graphics. We are currently seeking a regular, part-time (0.097 FTE ) Faculty, Digital Design and Development to teach the following course to full time (day-school) students in the Digital Design and Development diploma:

 

Duties & Responsibilities

MDIA 2003 Project 1 (9.7%)

  • This course focuses on content management system design and development. Students will develop either a Drupal or WordPress site that meets specific business requirements. Requirements of this project include site navigation (which must be well defined and usable), site theme (must be associated with the business needs), vertical or horizontal sidebars, and implementation of CSS style sheets. The project will focus largely on design and functionality. Students must incorporate all of their development skills to successfully complete this project.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Degree in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Minimum five years’ relevant experience and expertise in related subject matter to the content area of the course, including web tools and technologies, and project management, as well as Digital Design and Development more broadly.
  • Minimum five years of experience in post-secondary teaching and student evaluation skills related to Digital Design and Development and, in particular, content management system design and development.
  • Ability to prepare, deliver and administer a relevant, applied course in interface design usability, and to provide coaching to and assessment of, full time studies (day-school) post-secondary students in an effective manner that promotes learner motivation and successful acquisition of skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible, creative and enthusiastic presentation approach and ability to deliver interactive and experiential sessions
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, collegial environment.

 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Provincial Instructor Diploma
