Description:
The Facilities Manager reports to the Facilities Administrative Director. In that capacity he is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of McGill’s Off Campus Buildings. He maintains an optimal environment for administrative, academic and research purposes within those buildings in support of the University’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and administer all maintenance work to be done on building systems and help to determine the priorities for the renovation
- and/or modernization of related equipment;
- Supervises and administer the work of consultants, contractors and prepares reports and other documents related to this area of
- activity;
- Prepares cost estimates for repairs and maintenance;
- Ensures that all work is executed in accordance with the McGill standards;
- Ensures the healthy operation of all equipment related to building systems at the University;
- Manages the financial resources and operates the Off Campus Buildings as cost effectively as possible;
- Act as the resource person in resolving problems related to McGill University buildings;
- Consults existing plans and designs as required, maintains a high level of quality of service and seeks the best practice in the business
- process review associated with his activity;
- Develop and implement programs and schedules for preventive and predictive maintenance (PM and PPM).
- Any other tasks requested by the Director.
