Expense Manager

 

Description:

Reporting to the Director, MIM & GA Expense Management, in this role you will be a key member of the team to help our expense partners better understand their expenses, and help them deliver efficiencies and achieve their business objectives. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, as success will depend on working collaboratively with the larger Expense Team, the Financial Planning and Analysis Teams and Senior Leaders within the business.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver monthly expense reports to BU stakeholders according to the shared service model by partnering with the Expense shared service teams and working closely with the business. Ensure quality of data and be responsible for the development of reporting which meets the evolving needs of our customers. Provide valuable analysis along with clear and concise commentary on results for our customers.
  • Work closely with the business to understand their expense and growth needs, and develop annual expense plans as part of the Company’s annual planning process.
  • Demonstrate or quickly develop a strong technical understanding of the accounting for expenses, including company policies, and sufficient business knowledge to be able to verify, analyze, and challenge information under review.
  • Ownership of the allocation process between our General Account Business and the Public and Private Market business within GWAM.
  • Provide support for MAM / GA and other reporting as required.
  • Apply sound judgment in dealing with unexpected issues and requests, demonstrating an ability to prioritize work, and balance resource requirements to achieve solutions.
  • Play a key role as part of the Expense Management leadership team in the achievement of expense transformation and other projects. Deliver process improvement and standard methodologies in expense reporting.
  • Identify expense risk and opportunities and recommend and influence actions for BU
