Executive Director

Description:

The Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Association (NLDA) is in search of an Executive Director. This individual will provide advocacy, public awareness, professional learning, and information sharing to members and Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

The NLDA serves over 250 dentists across the province and is dedicated to bringing healthier smiles to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. We’re a passionate group who strives to have a proactive approach to oral health care.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Executive Committee, the Executive Director is responsible for:

● Chief Administrative Officer of the NLDA.

○ This includes, but is not limited to, employing and managing all staff, administration, finance/accounting, etc.

● Directing and developing organizational strategy and ensuring they’re inline with the strategic plan of the NLDA.

● Positively represent the NLDA during all instances required by the Executive Committee.

● Influence and lead the organization toward positive growth in member services.

Key Duties:

● Provide leadership to the NLDA’s various committees.

● Build and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders and partners.

● Negotiate and advocate on behalf of the dentists with the provincial and federal government.

● Manage all activities and member services provided by the NLDA.

Qualifications:

● Must have a relevant degree (Business, Human Resources, etc)

● 5+ years experience, combination of education and practical experience will also be considered.

● Must be a well-organized and ethical individual with good communication and advocacy skills.

● Must have financial management skills.

● Must have the ability to lead a strong and independent team.
