Description:

We are seeking a full-time Executive Director: Child and Family Services/Child Protection to join us in our Kamloops office and lead our organization and diverse team in supporting a positive and inclusive culture with open communication and cooperative relationships. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for the successful leadership and general management of the Agency according to the organization’s vision, objectives, and strategic direction set by the Board.

As the Executive Director of SCFSA, you will engage with the 7-member communities to ensure that our services align with their community’s needs and values.

A mountain top view of the Executive Director’s responsibilities:

  • Developing programs in conjunction with the management team, conducting needs assessments to identify gaps and develop plans to address clients’ and community’s needs
  • Collaborating with and responding to the diverse needs of our 7-member communities, ensuring the provision of the most appropriate prevention services
  • Conducting needs assessment, identifying gaps, and planning client-focused programs
  • Taking an active role in developing and mentoring staff for more senior positions to ensure the succession of key positions
  • Participating in strategic planning, goal setting, and long-term projects with the Board while developing operational plans, and aligning goals with strategic direction

  • Leading the implementation of the strength-based, culturally rooted practice to enhance the wellness of families and communities
  • Creating and overseeing efficient programs and departments, measuring goal achievement
  • Building strong relationships with employees, community groups, and external service providers
  • Managing day-to-day operations, including program oversight and development
  • Collaborating with various organizations for joint special projects and enhanced services
  • Ensuring legal compliance and upholding policies and procedures
  • Enhancing organizational profile through PR, networking and advocacy
  • Overseeing annual budget planning with the senior management team while also managing budgets, funding proposals and reporting
