Engineering Technician / Technologist I

 

Description:

The Town of Lincoln is seeking an Engineering Technician / Technologist I to support municipal infrastructure projects within the Public Works Department. This role will contribute to the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of infrastructure systems, including stormwater management, water distribution, wastewater collection, and roadways.

Key Responsibilities:

🏗 Engineering & Technical Support:

  • Conduct field surveys, data analysis, and inspections.
  • Assist in the design and execution of public works and infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with municipal policies, provincial standards, and regulations.

💻 Software & CAD Expertise:

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI ArcGIS, and Citywide Asset Management Software for infrastructure planning.
  • Prepare technical reports, memos, and documentation.

🛣 Municipal Infrastructure Management:

  • Provide engineering support for stormwater collection, water distribution, wastewater collection, and roadways.
  • Interpret legislation, design drawings, and engineering reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma in Civil, Construction, or Transportation Engineering
Certified Technician (C.Tech) designation required
Membership with OACETT (Ontario Association of Civil Engineering Technologists and Technicians)
Minimum 2 years of related experience
Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure, standards, and regulations
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office, and GIS software
Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits:

💰 Hourly Wage: $31.88 (increasing to $35.42 after 120 working days)
