Engineering Geomatics Co-op Student

We are currently looking for a Bachelor of Engineering Geomatics student to fill a 3-month position within our Asset Management department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

• Developed maintenance strategies for GIS road layer:
  • Add new access roads and other information.
  • Edit existing roads from current road layers with new/edited roads.
  • Develop process to maintain road layer.
• Determine LiDAR data accuracy:
  • Used Ground Control Point data to generate QC reports for absolute horizontal and vertical accuracy.
  • Develop process to generate QC report.
• Convert machine tracking points to GIS layers:
  • According to different machine types, GNSS points must be converted in polygons to highlighted areas that were covered by machines.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in the third or fourth-year Bachelor of Engineering Geomatics Co-op Program.

An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
