We’re recruiting for an Engineering and Survey Technician. As the Engineering and Survey Technician, you conduct a broad range of surveying and engineering related duties in conjunction with the administration, maintenance and construction of Provincial highways and bridges.
You will assist with contract supervision and supervision of a crew, preparation of right-of-way plans, and calculate vertical and horizontal control for roads and bridges. You will also collect, compile and present data collected during your field work and determine quantities of materials for use on projects. The data you collect directly supports the development and construction of various projects through the District.
Primary Accountabilities
In this role, your focus will be assisting the Project Engineer in facilitating the Capital Program. You will also be responsible for:
Most of your time will be spent outside in various weather conditions on heavily travelled roads or in rough, isolated areas on construction sites.
Graduation from a two (2) year Survey or Civil Technology course is required.
Frequent travel throughout your assigned area is a component of this position; as such, you must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
