EVRAZ North America is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineering Technologist to join their team in Red Deer, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who enjoys designing, installing, maintaining, programming, configuring, and troubleshooting electrical machinery, industrial controls, automation systems, and data acquisition systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review wiring diagrams, specifications, and work instructions for both routine and emergency repairs.
  • Analyze drawings and diagrams to locate circuits, identify materials, and develop logical troubleshooting approaches.
  • Plan work details, ensuring adherence to codes, specifications, and material properties.
  • Locate and diagnose electrical faults in motors, generators, power panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, and more.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace faulty parts, wiring, coils, relays, resistors, and similar components.
  • Program and configure automation controllers such as PLCs, robotic controllers, VFDs, and DC drives to optimize performance.
  • Work day and night shifts as required.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma required.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification considered a strong asset.
  • 1 to 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in electrical controls, transmitters, valves, drives, temperature sensors, and automation/PLC software.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
