In This Role, You Will
- Be responsible for chemicals, waste, and recycling handling storage and usage. This position will classify as per our policies and standards and in compliance with all regulatory bodies it impacts.
- Manage and handle chemicals, recycling waste, along with hazardous and liquid waste programs across the mill on a daily basis.
- Be responsible for training for recycling, waste, new employee training around Waste Hazardous Management Information Systems (WHMIS) and chemical awareness
- Be responsible to develop plan to reach our 2025 and beyond goals for waste reduction at site.
- Be responsible for the maintenance of paperwork and data entry for Waste and Hazardous waste manifests and documentation (as per Transportation of Dangerous Goods Requirements).
- Be responsible for visual management including workplace chemical signage (as per WHMIS)
- Be responsible to lead audits internal and external and inspections and inventory management (Cycle counts, inventory adjustments) as well as creating and managing POs for waste, chemicals, materials, inclusive of safety stock.
- Be responsible for unloading of Chemical Tanker Trucks in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Be responsible for management of the spill’s prevention plan, which includes containment inspections, annual review
- Be responsible for leading the Chemical and Waste Action Teams and perform risk assessments on all existing and new chemicals.
- Organize and maintain 347/TDG training milewide.
- Engage as required with the Ministry of Environment to ensure compliance with all regulatory
