Drilling Operations Engineer

 

Description:

  • Work as “One Team” with rig contractor, suppliers, and other Equinor disciplines
  • Provide risk evaluations for the planned operation/activity
  • Prepare management of change (MOC) documentation for approval
  • Prepare and/or update time and cost estimates
  • Compile Detailed Operations Procedures (DOPs) for various drilling operations
  • Organize and facilitate DOP review meetings before start of operation
  • Ensure upcoming focus points in DOPs are discussed in the Daily Rig Status Meeting
  • Update the “as run Detailed Operations Procedures”
  • Evaluate real-time data for adherence to parameters and identification of improvements
  • Participate in subsurface meetings and discussions as/if applicable
  • Perform QC of all acquired data and update relevant databases
  • Challenge team to ensure work is done in safe and efficient way
  • Compile experience reports and final well reports
  • Support the offshore rig team as required

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience with Drilling activities, preferably with floating rigs
  • Experience with deepwater operations is an asset.
  • Experience with HPHT operations is an asset.
  • Experience with offshore / deepwater PP&A operations is an asset.
  • Requires valid IADC or IWCF Level 4 (Supervisor Level) well control training
