Director, Variable Compensation

 

Description:

  • Leading a global team of Variable Compensation professionals responsible for accurate and timely accruals, incentive and commissions calculations, reporting, systems administration, and maintenance of all compensation-related payments
  • Developing an annual strategic / financial plan for the variable compensation group, setting appropriate goals and metrics to measure group performance
  • Effectively leading executive engagement in the analysis, reporting, and approval of monthly variable compensation payments
  • Developing and enhancing analytics that assess the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures; providing effective recommendations for plan revisions that are cost effective; assessing and remediating system or process limitations
  • Partnering with business and corporate leaders, developing a deep understanding of business strategy, operating model, talent objectives and compensation practices
  • Supporting the annual compensation lifecycle, including consulting on changes in compensation policies and practices, incentive plan schedules, processes, modeling and analytics, and roll-outcommunication and training to maximize effectiveness; working directly with senior leadership in the recommendation and review process
  • Establishing and maintaining internal policies and procedures that preserves security and control over confidential information
  • Delivering continuous improvement, including the automation and standardization of compensation processes
  • Advancing a culture of customer service and accountability

What It Takes:

  • Ten plus years of related experience, with demonstrated capability at the Executive level
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong capabilities in collaboration and influence
  • Robust data analysis and critical thinking skills; dynamic modeling expertise
  • Proven ability to engage and develop organizational resources and talent
  • Ability to flourish in a dynamic environment and lead through ambiguity
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or other quantitative discipline required; Master's Degree or CPA preferred
  • High tech, Internet, or Computer industry experience is preferred
  • Experience with scaling through acquisition is desired
