Description:
- Setting the strategic direction of formalized learning at PCL by understanding organizational needs, business and market trends, interdepartmental functions, and principles of adult education.
- Providing direct and indirect supervision to a team of learning and development professionals
- Directing change management processes to ensure successful adoption of new programs in alignment with PCL strategy and priorities to position PCL as an employer of choice.
- Contributing to corporate leadership development through participation on the PCL Leadership Advisory Board and facilitation of senior-level leadership development programs.
- Applying expert knowledge to determine the appropriate delivery method for a situation based on the strategic learning objectives and learner needs.
- Leading research and development initiatives to evolve learning and development at PCL through innovation and technology.
- Ensuring standards of learning and documentation are maintained in alignment with PCL’s professional development business guide and are appropriate for the audience.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of corporate learning and development programming and initiatives across the company.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary degree specializing in adult education, organizational development, education, or business administration preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive learning and development experience in a corporate environment preferred, including 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Superior relationship management skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities effectively and lead and motivate senior level learning and development professionals/managers.
- Proven ability to lead teams through significant change management initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated organization, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate.
- Advanced experience in training, facilitation, and in managing complex sessions including conflict resolution.
- Advanced business acumen with an understanding of industry practices and new developments.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and present ideas and content that contribute to the sector or organization’s strategic priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and other specialized software as required.
