Description:
We are seeking passionate individuals to join our Board as Directors. As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping BEB's future, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of environmental and social change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fund Development: Cultivate relationships with funders, write grants and proposals, and support fundraising campaigns.
- Financial Management & Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations, oversee financial practices, and monitor reporting requirements.
- Personnel Management & Human Resources: Advice on volunteer and staff recruitment, workplace culture, and diversity and inclusion practices.
- Outreach & Social Impact: Build partnerships, increase our audience, and advise on impactful programming and activities.
- Strategic Planning & Programming: Collaborate on annual planning, evaluate organizational processes, and advise on resource allocation.
- Providing expertise on committees: Serving on select committees such as finance and HR.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in non-profit growth and development.
- Ideally, candidates from climate change/environmental, social justice, and/or social impact sectors.
- Expertise in non-profit financial management, legal compliance, nonprofit management, or social impact assessment & program evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to provide insightful recommendations
- Excellent oral and written communication including report writing
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Previous experience in environmental non-profit work
- Proficient with Google Workspace
