Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Master’s level degree in Business Administration would be considered an asset.
- Project Management Professional designation would be considered an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 - 15 years of relevant experience including progressively senior roles managing people.
- Demonstrated project management experience undertaking complex, multi-discipline capital projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and achieve required objectives.
- Demonstrated effective organizational problem-solving, planning and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated use of sound judgment and reliable decision making.
- Strong organizational skills and a high degree of self-motivation and business acumen.
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Facilities and Maintenance teams at our four locations to ensure their efficient operation and that annual objectives are achieved.
- Accountable for the development and execution of reliability and maintenance programs to ensure all facilities and critical equipment support ship repair, design, and construction.
- Develop risk mitigation plans for critical infrastructure and equipment.
- Coordinate the assignment of work to third party contractors as required.
- Responsible for the Sustaining Capital Program at Irving Shipbuilding.
- Participate in the long-term capital plan for Irving Shipbuilding facilities.
- Develop department goals and annual budgets that align with strategic plan.
- Develop department key performance indicators and department performance metrics.
- Ensure all facilities comply with relevant laws, regulations and occupational health and safety standards.
- Support the development and growth of team members to ensure high level of technical and project management competence.
- Accountable to develop and oversee department budgets.
- Establish cross department relationships to maximize department effectiveness.
