CIBC Treasury actively manages balance sheet resources (capital, funding and investments), as well as balance sheet risks (interest rate, liquidity and foreign exchange) in support of our bank’s strategy. We are an independent advisor to our operating businesses in the analytical pricing of products and strategies. Treasury also manages regulatory, central bank, government, industry and investor relations related to capital and funding instruments, balance sheet regulation, and treasury related financial system risks.
The Director, Capital Management is responsible for supporting/leading the development of automated infrastructure and processes for our risk transfer program, collaborating with cross-functional teams, structuring and executing new transactions, and managing the regulatory and investor reporting and other processes related to existing transactions.

How You’ll Succeed
- Responsible for managing risk transfer transaction portfolios – Monitor, manage and maintain risk transfer transaction portfolios (replenishment, performance and reporting), optimize portfolios to meet our objectives, and working with relevant stakeholders to complete reviews and control processes
- Actively monitor credit quality movement and performance of the underlying assets of the risk transfer portfolios
- Responsible for delivering various external reports - including portfolio/investor reporting and other reporting to meet requirements
- Responsible for regulatory capital reporting process - to ensure correct regulatory capital reporting related to securitization transactions
- Maintain booking of the financial instruments to ensure appropriate feed into downstream systems
- Assess financial/capital impacts for existing and new transactions, including assisting in new transaction launch / initiatives, gathering and preparing data, cost/benefits and other scenarios analysis
- Lead risk transfer infrastructure build by creating business requirements to support tactical and strategic automation solutions, working with Technology team to automate processes related to existing transactions, strengthen data integration, and effectively coordinating the overall project
Who You Are
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills including experience in effectively using various analytical tools (Excel, Python, SQL, SAS, etc)
- At least 5 years of experiences in working with risk system / reporting, capital management, technology, or data automation project delivery; strong orientation towards process design and management, operationalization
- You have a graduate degree in Business or Accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have good project / time management skills to deal effectively with multiple time demands in tight timelines.
- You have knowledge in regulatory capital requirements including securitization, CIBC risk reporting systems
