Description:

Opportunity to join a growing Family Office and private wealth management firm as the Director, Finance and Accounting. The Director will lead the overall coordination in accounting, control, and risk management of the firm. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer, to deliver clients with unique financial and tax planning support, including the effective administration of trusts.

LOCATION:
Hybrid work from home environment, time required in the office in Uxbridge, ON with travel throughout the province.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Manage financial and accounting systems, processes and controls and ensure ongoing management and maintenance of internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Maintain, measure, and report on operating budgets for the organization and all affiliated businesses.
  • Preparation of financial statements, reports and analysis for quarterly Board meetings.
  • Support risk management and insurance programs to ensure adequacy of coverage and mitigation of risk, and take initiative for continued improvements in controls and processes.
  • Coordinates with compliance team to ensure processes and procedures are in place to safeguard the firm.
  • Assist in financial and economic due diligence of prospective private equity, venture deals.

CLIENT SERVICE

  • Provide superior finance and accounting services to Ultra High Net Worth clients such as tax preparation, mitigation and holistic financial planning
  • Support tax-efficient wealth strategies, including trusts and financial succession planning.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6+ years finance or accounting position with client facing experience from an accounting firm, investment company and/or Family Office preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance with a CPA/CA
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles and experience in the adoption and application of changing and new standards.
  • Experience in wealth management (investments, fiduciary, philanthropy and family office).
  • Proven ability to generate confidence and relationships with high net worth prospects.
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations with the ability to interface well with securities regulators.
  • Experience to start-up ventures, corporate debt, philanthropic foundations, and non-profit organizations.
