Description:
Reporting to the Director, Business Technology Services, the Digital Security Team lead supervises, mentors, and supports the IT Security Analysts in their efforts to maintain the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the college's digital assets. They will develop and monitor metrics to help drive the effectiveness of the team, understand the value of metrics, maintain process discipline, as well as help their team achieve their goals.

- Effectively supervise team members in a way that allows them to meet or exceed their clearly defined goals.
- Coordinate the collection of evidence of NorQuest IT General Controls (ITGC) in preparation for annual audits by the Office of the Auditor General (OAG).
- Coordinate and participate in activities related to IT Risk Assessments and IT Security Audits.
- Assist in the development, improvement and implementation of college IT security policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and baselines in accordance with the IT Security Governance model.
- Support the college community to follow secure IT behaviors to ensure protection of college data, assets, and its reputation.
- Manage initiatives to improve existing business processes as well as develop and implement new business processes.
- Adhere to NorQuest’s Strategic Project Management Office (SPMO) processes and practices.
- Gather, compile, and distribute metrics on a regular basis to the management team.
- Manage day-to-day digital security activities.
- Balance the need to secure the college’s digital assets with the client’s need to perform their tasks in the most effective way possible.
- Provide management with information and recommendations for digital security service improvement.
- Establish and maintain relationships with individuals from various faculties, departments, and divisions.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A 2-year diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science is required.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field would be an asset.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Certification or enrolment in one or more of the following would be considered an asset: ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation, SSCP, GIAC Certifications, COMP TIA Security+, and Other Security Certifications.
- Desire or intention for the following certifications: CISM, CISSP, and SANS Certifications.
- 3+ years of experience in IT security and network operations.
- Previous experience with the supervision of staff would be an asset.
- Experience with the Cisco suite of security tools would be an asset.
