Description:
Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver all meat and seafood products in a safe and professional manner
Perform and complete pre-truck inspection forms (i.e. check tires and fluid levels)
Ensure the preloaded truck includes all tools for success during the route (pallet straps, hand cart, pen, clipboard, load bars and all necessary paperwork)
Ensure refrigerated trucks maintain the required temperatures throughout the delivery
Accurately document and complete proof of delivery, driver delivery log and track the temperature of the truck
Handle customer complaints and returns of unwanted product
Collect cheques upon delivery
Follow computer-based RoadNet from Gordon Food Services
Requirements
Class 5 unrestricted driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changes in priorities
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Experience driving a three or five-ton truck is preferred
Basic understanding of the cold chain process is preferred
Basic understanding of technology is an asset
Knowledge of the food industry is an asset
Familiarity with routes and the lower mainland is preferred
