Description:
As a member of the Payments (PRESTO) Technology and Integration Department, the Data Architect is responsible for the planning, coordination, design, development oversight, and general supervision of all data related activities and designs related to the integration, storage, transmission and usage of software programs, applications, reports, databases, data models, interfaces, interface management tooling, and third-party solutions to meet the business requirements of the organization.
What will I be doing?
- Collaborates with enterprise architects, domain architects, solutions architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to design the PRESTO Enterprise framework to define architecture standards and reference architecture.
- Working alone and in teams, designs for mission-critical, high-volume, highly resilient industry best practice data structures from concept to highly detailed levels
- Owns the data architecture landscape for all systems and software integrations
- Understands and applies all relevant compliance requirements and standards to data design and practice
- Creation and maintenance of technology reference architectures in-line with industry best practice
- Assists with translating business data capabilities into technology design solutions to optimize people, process, and technology to provide value to PRESTO customers, clients, and partners
- Collaborates with stakeholders to identify future data needs to ensure the quality, reliability, and predictability of PRESTO core IT operations
- Leads working groups when required to determine best outcomes and solutions
- Anticipate emerging data trends, regulatory/risk issues and conduct market scans in business technologies and practices to determine solutions that are fit for purpose.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies, effectiveness, and capabilities in alignment with organizational goals.
- Creates best-in-class detailed data architecture patterns for new capabilities into the existing PRESTO IT capability stack.
- Create and maintains business capability, data, process, and technology inventories. Work with multiple capability and functional teams to gather and document the structure of PRESTO business and technology landscape
- Ensures architectural documentation conforms with documentation standards and guidance – Architecture Decision Records, Archimate models, and other artifacts.
- Works with the solution and technical architects to deliver data architecture artifacts needed for End-to-End Enterprise Architecture & Solution Architecture deliverables to ensure technology resilience is designed and built into all solutions.
- Review solution architectures and detailed designs to ensure they comply with industry standards and policies.
- Provides expert advice to project teams on the use of integration technology, data architecture and modeling, system architecture including data integration best practices
- Engages stakeholders to act; Serves as a source of expert advice and frames information in a broader organizational context.
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related to issues at all levels.
- Creates a culture of continuous improvement to ensure high-quality service standards and timely delivery are achieved.
- Fosters a safe and healthy work environment; ensures project teams, contractors and trades comply with health, safety, and environmental standards that meet or exceed legislated requirements
- Drives innovation by reviewing and analyzing processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Provides cost-benefit analysis to business cases
- Leads and mentor others and provides advice and technical expertise, while helping to develop the knowledge base within the team
