Description:
The Korczak lab at the Hospital for Sick Children is seeking a Data Analyst to provide statistical expertise on ongoing active research studies in child and adolescent depression and mental health. Reporting to the Principal Investigator in the Neurosciences and Mental Health Program, the successful candidate will work on research studies employing a variety of study designs, including a multi-site youth suicide prevention RCT.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Actively ensure data integrity and quality
- Determine and execute data analysis and interpretation
- Clean and prepare study data for statistical analysis and reporting purposes
- Perform high-quality statistical analysis
- Generate and maintain standard operating procedures for statistical analysis and data cleaning and maintenance
- Contribute to grant and manuscript preparation
- Support student and trainee projects through supervision of statistical analyses and interpretation of statistical tests
Here’s what you will need:
- Graduate degree in Biostatistics or Statistics or recognized equivalent
- Experience conducting longitudinal data analyses using binary/ordinal and continuous data in clinical/health services research.
- Understanding of missing data mechanisms and methods to address missing data problems in longitudinal studies
- Expertise performing data management and conducting statistical analyses using SAS (Base/Macros/SQL) and R. Knowledge of Mplus, SPSS, MATLAB or STATA and REDCap are considered assets
- Experience in dimensionality reduction techniques and modern applied statistical methods (machine learning) + knowledge of EFA, CFA, SEM
- 3 to 5 years of experience conducting analyses in mental health research.
- Experience in the design, analysis and reporting of research across a wide range of disciplines.
- Experience in cleaning, manipulating and analyzing small and large datasets
- Ability to work independently and possess the capacity for self-directed work and supervision and mentoring of students
- Strong interpersonal, communication, data presentation and writing skills.
